- Day 1. Leadership skills. Emergency procedures. Animal encounters.
- Day 2. Risk management. Decision making. First aid scenarios,
Be prepared to face the most common emergencies that can occur during a ride. This program is designed to teach trail leadership skills and give students the tools they will need in case something goes sideways while mountain biking. This program is not a first aid certification course, we recommend that participants do a first aid course either before or after the program.
This mountain bike course is for novice and intermediate riders. Participants must ride easy blue trails in control. Please read the Level Descriptions to ensure you sign up for the right program.
Course structure:
– Meeting location at the picnic tables by the skate park off parking lot 3,Â
– This course runs usually runs on weekends. Total of 8 hours of learning over 2 days.Â
– Max 6 riders per group, we need at least 2 participants to run the course. Age 13+ and adults.
– Price: 195CAD + tax (5%).Â
– Please read the Level Descriptions and sign up for a mountain bike program accordingly.
– Be comfortable exercising outside for long periods of time and under different weather conditions.Â
– Sign the waiver and fill the emergency contact form before the start of camp.
– A mountain bike in good working condition.Â
– Helmet in good shape and that fits well.
– Knee pads mandatory, gloves highly recommended, elbow pads recommended.
– Enough food and water for the ride.
– A tube that fits your tires.
– Depending on weather jacket or sun screen.Â
– Appropriate attire and shoes for mountain biking.
– A pack to carry your gear and supplies.
– A note pad and pen.
